Introducing Alexander Home Improvements

Hi, I'm Andy Alexander of Alexander Home Improvements which is a small business, based in Kington in Worcestershire, specialising in providing a reliable and high quality bathroom installation, home renovation and maintenance service to all its customers.

The business was started in 2006. I am a Carpenter by trade but due to my extensive apprenticeship with my first employer, Halls Builders, and a period as an employee at AGS Gas Ltd in Alcester (2018-2023),  I have learnt to achieve professional standards in other trades such as plastering, plumbing and heating, tiling and painting and decorating. I qualified as a gas engineer in 2020.

I specialise in using these skills, alongside Part P certified electricians, to carry out domestic renovations from start to finish. From stripping out a room and disposing of the waste correctly to applying the final brush of gloss I pride myself on the quality of my workmanship, tidyness and commitment to customer satisfaction.

Modern bathroom with a 500 year old floor.

Another bathroom project from my time with AGS Gas Ltd, this time in Sambourne. Andrew, the carpenter on site, had done an incredible job reviving the Elm flooring which was hundreds of years old. The modern bathroom sat nicely in the room with a freestanding bath, a recessed shower diverter valve and a niche to keep those bottles of shampoo on bringing modern luxuries to a beautiful old building.

A well designed bathroom near Portway

This bathroom had sloping ceilings either side of the dormer window which restricted the amount of usable space. Larissa at City Plumbing came up with this clever basin unit design along with the customers and the rest was down to me. I looked great and gave a luxury hotel feel to the room with lots of practical storage and worktop space. A new shower over the bath and a hinged screen meant the customer had choices at bathing time. The paneling on the walls and a modern compact close coupled toilet completed the room.

Bathroom in a barn conversion

This job in a barn conversion near Astwood Bank was a bit more challenging than a standard bathroom with 4 square and level walls and a flat ceiling. It turned out nicely though with a newly positioned frameless shower enclosure nestling between two huge oak beams.
